Beginnings
Hello, My name is Maverik Murdock. I am a 25 year old knife maker from Bozeman, Montana. Since a very young age, I have enjoyed working with my hands. As I grew up in Montana so did my love for the outdoors. At the age of 15 my love for the outdoors and creating things converged and I built my first hunting knife. I began building one knife after another to grow my skill. And the rest is history.
In July 2014 I forged my first knife and found a method of knife making that, for me, was like no other. I found a connection to a tradition dating back thousands of years that could not come from any other way of moving material, and I have been hand forging almost all my knives ever since.
Craftsman life
My goal as a Bladesmith is to build an heirloom work of art that any owner would be proud to use and pass down to the next generation. I am constantly challenging my abilities with new styles and techniques, building the highest quality knives I can. I aspire to mastering all aspects of knife making from forging, heat treating, carving, metal finishes, leatherwork etc. I love what I do and try to transfer that into every piece I build.
Faith and family are the core of who I am and what I do. I have been very blessed to have grown up in a family that encouraged my love for working with my hands. My parents taught me to do everything I do out of a love for Jesus and a love for people and that is what I try to do.
